Classes start with gentle movements in preparation for the body to sit comfortably. Once ready to sit, Nicole emphasizes the importance of finding your seat and demonstrates several ways of sitting. When the guided mediation begins, Nicole stresses the importance of focusing on different sensations, whether it be the breath, sounds or feelings in the body. She incorporates concentration aspects into class like alternate nostril breathing, vocal practices and sound therapy.

As a beginner to the practice of meditation I have found that Nicole's classes and instruction have helped me set a direction and foundation for my practice. After sitting for meditation only once, it becomes quickly apparent that like a surfer who unsuccessfully attempts to control the ocean, one cannot simply control their inner thoughts. At first this realization is disheartening. But with time it becomes freeing.
